Steering Problem (w/ pics)

Hey everyone,
I have a steering problem that i hope you can help me with on my 79 ranchero. This piece is in between the steering column and steering box. With the steering column removed, i can move the piece up and down, and to the left and right. With the column on, it could still move left and right. There is a lot of play, and i can see why, because there is a broken piece or a missing piece at the connection between the box and the piece. If anyone knows what is wrong or how to fix it, i would appreciate it!! Thanks!
Danny

Not sure, but I think there is supposed to be a "rag joint" there. You could look at a junk yard or ask your local auto parts store.

Danny, there's suppose to be a round heavy rubber material that goes in there. As mentioned above, you can get replacements at your parts store.
