ABS Light

2000 X, Limited, 4X4, 97k miles,
All of a sudden over the weekend the ABS light on the instrument panel comes on and stays on each time you start up the truck. There was even one time when the overdrive light on the end of the shift lever was flashing on and off. Does anyone know what could be causing this to happen? The brakes feel fine and no work has been done on the truck in a couple of months. I'm confused on this one.

I'd guess that the problem is the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) located on the rear pumpkin. It's easy to replace and cost about $35 if I remember correctly.
