Reverse lights dilema

I finally get to the wiring part of my truck and I've hit my biggest problem. I have a '70 F-100 that when stock had a three on the tree. Well for some reason the previous owner of the truck decided he wanted three on the floor. But the ******* forgot to move the reverse lights switch when he did it so now i dont know what to do with the switch. Right now it is on the engine bay side of the column. I have no clue what to do and all suggestions help.

Unless your floor shifter has a provision for the switch to mount, your only option may be to wire them into a manual switch mounted on the dash. You may be able to make a switch work on the linkage underneath, and you may want to do a little research to see if a Ford pick-up with a 4 speed had a switch and bracket you may be able to modify and use. It's going to take a little head scratching thats for sure.

PS

One of the reasons people convert over to a floor shifter is when the cab mounts rust, and let the cab drop down on the frame. This messes up the column shifter linkage to where it doesn't work correctly.
