I managed a collision shop back in the 90`s and can tell you a whole lot of stories about ins companies and their scumbag appraisers. For one,we took a van in that had hit a telephone pole. The frame was bent so the van needed to be put on the frame-rack.For those who dont know,a framerack is a machine that you drive up on,then clamp the vehicle down and then there are pulling rams that you can pull the frame back to staight again. It takes about an hour to get the vehicle on the rack, bolt it down, and then do all your measurements in order to know where and how much to pull. This particular rack cost $45,000.Long story short, the appraiser comes in and tells me,we wont pay for set-up time.I say fine and tell the body guys to push the van outside. The scumbag appraiser says fine,we will just take it somewhere else.I call the customer and tell him what is happening,he hits the roof and says put said scumbag on the phone.Ten minutes later, scumbag says,ok we will pay it.It seems like every other car that we did that had anything to do with the insurance bloodsuckers cost us money. It got so bad that the owner shut the doors and went into trucking gravel.

I pay $1,000 per year for the no-fault joke that they force down our throats. If some moron runs into you,he laughs and says Haha no-fault.You get nothing for your $1,000 other than knowing the rich get richer off your hard earned money!

Maybe I should have posted this in the pet peeves thread!

I lost 2 cars in a row to uninsured motorists, despite our state law that requires insurance. Nobody officially told me, but a sympathetic cop clued me in, to make the law click in (to take away the uninsured guy's license) I had to go, personally, during business hours, to the Highway Patrol station and pick up a form (4 pages) and fill it out without any errors, and send it to the state capitol. After careful review, if I have all my tees crossed, they will send out a warrant to the jurisdiction where the perp lives, and then the cops are supposed to go to his house and physically remove his drivers license from his possession. However, in this great city of Kansas City, where there is never enough money in any body's budget, the cops only honor local warrants, and do not expend the manpower to chase these guys down. The only way it will ever kick in is if the yithead gets caught again, and they run his name in the computer.

Something interesting I found out, while the state requires insurance to get a tag, and requires proof of insurance be carried in the vehicle, it does not require that the information be given to the victim. If the cops do give it out, it's an infringement of the rectum's rights.

What a system. Our representatives in the government only pass these laws so that they can get re-elected, but, when it comes down to it, the laws are worthless. Let's re-elect all of them! Incumbents forever!
