Unhappy Brake and Hazard Light Problems

1990 F-250 7.3L diesel, automatic transmission

I would appreciate any advice you can give me. My left brake and left rear hazard lights don't work. All other lights are working, including the left turn signal. I replaced the bulb and checked the wiring--didn't find any problems. Do you think it would be a switch/relay near the fuse box or something in the steering column? If the problem is in the steering column, is it possible for a weekend mechanic to repair it? Thanks in advance for your help!

Frank

I do not know how well you checked the wiring, but before I went there I would go under the truck at the back.
On the drivers side at the end of the frame is a connector with 4 wires in it.
Pull it apart and check for voltage coming from the front there first.
Left turn, right turn, marker and tail lights. This is prone to corrosion and may be the sorce of your problems.

Yours may be a little different, mine is an 86.

Thanks for the advice! I'll have to crawl back under and verify my previous findings as I didn't find that connector when I checked earlier. I'll let you know what I find out but probably won't be able to look at it again until Saturday.

Thanks again.
