Are you sure the trans code isn't T? I don't think there was ever an "I" for a trans code. If it is "T", then it is the AOD but you didn't mention if it was auto, manual, or it it had overdrive.

It sounds like you have the AOD then. Does the gear selector have 2 "Ds" on it? The first "D" should have a circle around it (overdrive) and the second should not.
