Cool Radiator Fluid Leaking

First Time to Post:
I have a 74 F100 with no A/C. I have radiator fluid leaking inside the cab. My friend told me it was probably the heater core and that it was very easy to replace. I have the book for this truck and can follow the directions to fix the heater core, but 1st, how do i get the plastic molding off to get to the heater core without tearing it up?? Don't see many screws, bolts, etc. 2nd, once inside how do I know if it is the heater core that is messed up? I'll stop here and get back with anyone that responds with help that needs more info! Thanks so much for your help this site has been unbelievable for someone who hasn't turned a wrench a whole lot!

By plastic modling do you mean the dash or the molding around the gauges?

I mean the plastic molding underneath the dash/glovebox. IN other words I don't know how to get to the heater core behind the dash/glovebox. Is this clear or not??

Ok....I went out and took a look around at my truck to see if I could figure this out. On my truck (76 4x4 f150 factory a/c) and I found 2 nuts on the bottom of the molding, your carpet might be covering these up. I found one on the right side (looking towards the front of the truck from inside of the cab), itll be hard to get to because its in between the molding and the wall of the cab. I think you're going to have to take off the rubber vent that connects from the molding to the wall of the cab. The side of the vent that connects to the molding just pops off, the other side is bolted to the wall of the cab and I only saw 3 bolts but I think there are 4. This is all I could see but I am expecting there to be a few more nuts holding on the molding on the top side and the left side but it would be hard to get to them from inside the cab. I would try to get the bolts that the nuts are screwed onto from outside of the fire wall. Hope this helps, although you might of already found these nuts and bolts and are stuck elsewhere in getting it off.

Thanks for the help I'll get back to you tomorrow after looking in daylight. Do you know how I will know for sure if it is the heater core that is leaking?? or is there really anything else it might be besides the heater core??
