draglink problems

draglink problems
yes i have a 1995 Ranger with 4.0v6 and manual tranny. When I take off and baby the clutch a little, i guess some would say driving right and not dumping the clutch, there is a loud pop in the frontend. I though it was probably a worn motormount or possibly a worn transmission mount but i looked today and they were all okey. I did notice however that my draglink had alot of play in it. I could spin it from side to side real easy. I had someone turn the wheel and it had a little bit of play in it where it meets the pitman arm. The joints have been greased regularly but i did live down a gravel road and drove like a duke so i guess that is how it work out??? WHere it meets the steering arm spun easily also and so did the tie rod on the passenger side but the most play was right at the pitman arm. I looked and it looked like the joint on the draglink where it connects to the pitman arm was one piece. Can the joint be pushed out possibly and changed or does the whole draglink have to be replaced. My Haynes book didn't say anything about it. Also what is the average price for one. I guessed about 70-80 is that bout right. thank you
