KFX8134(those are FCC issued numbers from way back) and n7oja on the ham bands. no set up right now(apartment living) just swl.
on the local side when i was active i would have to change handles alot because i was a teenager and would be the cb equivilent to an anarchist hacker. i went to great links to disrupt activity and just mess around(i was quite talented at the repairs though. that was my real hobby(modifying them for more pwer and channels) i went by a few different handles,"kid vicious, and thematocaster" were two i can remember.
I just got a plain jane Cobra 29 in my Freightliner. As far as a handle, I had one in highschool, but now most folks just call me by what's written on the side of my tractor/trailer.
How do you get a 10 watt CB, oh and also, i am not trying to hijack this thread but is it alright to mount a antenna in between the bed and the cab on my truck without anything sticking above the truck. May be a dumb question but im not really sure.
dont mount any antenna with the notion that it will work and wont stick up above the vehicle. that's the whole idea. for example, the worst way to mount an antenna is on the bumper of a van. only about 3" of useable antenna. i feel like we are using the wrong place to discuss this topic. anyone know where to go? ive got lots of experience in repairing and modifying these things.
EVERYTHING WAS BETTER IN THE 70'S, TRUCKS, MUSIC, CB'S...
yeah..about the SWR meter..went to radio shack the other day to pick one up and they cost like 38 dollars..is that the right price?or should i just give in and go to a cb shop
