Which Tire do you recommend?

I need 33's... 12.50 x 15

80% road use. Much of that will be at highway speeds. Some road noise is fine... so not a huge issue. $$$ is somewhat of an issue so I dont want anything that's more than 2 bills( $200 ) a tire.

The rest of the time will be mud (often deep mud ) sand, and whatever I encounter in the woods ( you know, then fun stuff ). No rocks to speak of in FL.

I know that swampers are good but I'm not clear on which model would be better under these conditions. ProComp??

Not looking to start a war over your favorite's.... I know that boggers are king for straight mud running...

If you can find a Hancock dealer in your area try the dynamic m/t, they are a little noisy but not to bad, they are a radial tire, and they last well, I had one set for about 10k miles, and sold them the guy buying them swore they were brand new (sold them to run swampers for racing), they proformed real well in mud, and snow. Also another friend of mine had a set that went 65k miles, and still got him around in the muddy fields on a 3/4ton chebbie, that he used for towing ALOT, and that many miles on a mud tire is decent (the truck actually broke down, and he got rid fo the whole thing or would have had more miles on them as were still legal.)
BTW they also make an A/T tire but I don't have any personal experience with them but would be quieter tire, and should last atleast as long.

Na, I agree with the guys call on the bfg m/ts for what you are wanting. I had a set on a truck once and they were a great all terrain.

I just got my second set of BFG Muds and they are a great tire. I've also heard that the Good Year MTR's are also a pretty good but have had no personal expierence with them.

I've run the bfg's in the past, and they are a pretty good tire in the mud but I could never get a set to last 30k miles before they were worn out even on a ranger that never hauled anything just driving up, anddown the road to work

i have had a set of goodyear muds and was pretty happy with them. they did well offroad in mud and rocks and also weren't to bad on the street. ive also had bfg muds to and they seem to be neck and neck with the goodyears except they arent as loud on the road. also you might want to check out that general mud terrian tire. ive heard they are good off and on road and arent that loud.

MTR's are not a mud tire.....they turn to drag slicks in the mud. They are for rocks.

if there is no shame in ur game i would go with a set of "cheapies". wildcountrys look a lot like the bfg m/t's but instead of 130ish a tire the wildcountrys are 110 or so. I have also used a set of dunlap mud rovers.(lol real cheap), i got em from sams club. i use my truck for 75% road and 20% mud and the rest in the last five percent. those dunlap mud rovers are awesome. ive got about 40k miles on em and the got quite a bit of tread on em. if u do not like the whit letters that say " dunlap mud rover" just spin them around they are whit on one side and black letters on the other. love my mud rovers. btw im using 33x12.50R16.5.

I have had 2 sets of bfgs and now a set of swamper ssrs. I had relatively good luck with the bfgs, but now I will buy the cheapest thing if it isn't going to be swampers. In fact, I am looking at the Dunlops for my tacoma when the stock tires wear out. They are the cheapest so far, and I have known a few people who have had good luck with them. Not that bfg is bad, just costs more. Ted

Quick note about the Swamper LTBs - they are bias ply and have quirky road manners. They flat spot, they wander, they slide easily around wet corners, and above all, they are loud. I have taken to wearing ear plugs when rolling down the highway (at a tire limited 55 mph, as my truck doesn't feel confident going any faster with the LTBs!). However, don't let my comments seem as if I dislike the LTBs - These tires are just about unstoppable!
