Intermitent White Smoke?
Anyways, getting back to the topic, i have a 04 350 CC DRW 6.0 and i have noticed white smoke coming out of my exhaust. Now, it only happens once in a blue moon, but today i decided to help a friend move a shed. The truck was idling a lot and when i was moving my trailer i was giving it gas while applying the brakes ( ive learned its easier to modulate ur movement that way, especially when inches count, not sure if its a bad thing but it works haha). But overall i dont feel i abused to truck at all, it was a small 8X12 shed. but i noticed that sometimes i would have white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe (of course, otherwise somethin else would need fixin). And finally when i left the first two, maybe three times that i would start from a complete stop, i would have a puff of white smoke, and then it was gone. It didnt matter if it was WOT or just easing on the gas.
Now my father "re-informed" myself that white smoke is water....my question is being that this is:
A) a diesel
B) a technically advanced diesel
Is this normal for this engine in small amounts? or is this actually a head or turbo problem?
The truck has about 4600 miles on on, about 1.5 months old, and hasnt been used for any towing, mainly highway driving (1 trip to florida from philadelphia)
The only mod to date is the disconnected EGR valve, but a tuner is going to be ordered soon, as soon as i figure out what that white smoke is.
Thanks for any replys and again, this forums great, everyone keep up the good work.
