Front bumper protection

I have a 2004 Heritage Supercab STX with the painted front bumper. I've only had it for a month but I already noticed a couple of chips in the bumpers. Anyone have any suggestions for protecting the bumper?

Thanks

Benny

Drive backwards? Just kidding. Rock chips and such are hard to avoid. You may check around to see if someone makes a bra to fit the F150. Covercraft and LeBra used to make them for a lot of applications.

There is a clear film to protect these painted parts. I don't remember the name, but I've seen it in Cabela's catalogs. I've never used it so don't know how "invisible" it is.

i wouldnt go with a bra for the front of the truck unless you have alot of time to maintain the paint under it. the big problem with the bras are that dirt and stuff gets behind them and it actually beats and rubs your paint and over time it will destroy it. if you get a bra you would have to actually take it off pretty oftena nd wash and wax under it alot. you could go with the clear film. that would be a better option and if you wanted to repaint it they make a clear coat called gravel guard or you could put a good amount of hardener in the clear before it is sprayed. thats what i did on my air valence when it was painted and no chips yet. its been on almost a year now.

Thanks. I agree, no bra for me. That clear film sounds like the solution as does the clear coat with the hardener. I check Cabelas and see what they have.
