Carburetor Hookup

I've got a '68 F100 that's had exactly two owners through the years: grandpa and me. Grandpa's long gone these days and I'm trying to fix up his old truck. Towards that end, I pulled out the carburetor and had it rebuilt at a local shop. Now I'm trying to get the puppy hooked back up again. The fuel line and vacuum lines are connected, but I have this spring left over that I assume goes to the trottle. Anyone have a picture on how to hook this little dohicky up? My manual doesn't have any diagrams that cover this area

Thanks!

Best of my recolection, there was a metal arm of sorts bolted to one of the rear intake bolts. one end went there and the other end went on the carb where the linkage is but at the bottom. Make sure its on the right end so it dont run away.

I've seen the setup that nikki describes. I've got one end of my spring hooked up to the firewall and the other end to the carb.

I just unhooked mine last night on my autolite 1101. If thats the carb you have: The large end of the spring hooks to a bracket that extends over to the left of the engine (Pass side). The small end hooks in the throttle actuator lever. It has a small hole up towards the top. Good luck, John
