I am not looking for a solution to this problem, just a couple of comments in good humor. When working under the hood of my 71 custom last week, I bumped my head 3 times on that huge hoodlatch....it was so bad that my barber wanted to know who I had tangled with that day....Now I guess the solution to this problem is to wear a crash helmet when working on my truck. A red flag would do no good, soooooo.....just wondering if anyone else has this problem....lol.....Nomadic
Nomadic, I've done that a few times too. Now I make a habit of making sure the hood is up as far as she'll go.
That is even a bigger problem with my '70 Cougar. The hood has the center grill section attached and it's like big buck teeth hanging down in the middle. I always bang my head on it when backing out from under the hood!
I've put a few dents in my head from my old 1972. The hood hinge springs are worn out too so it likes to sag... OUCH!
It makes me so glad that they changed it for the 1973. I don't give myself concusions when working on my '73. although you have to go through a ritual to get the hood to open.
Can you imagine though... all the Ford factory workers, and Ford mechanics, and even salesmen showing off the rigs, when the '67 came out, all with dented heads?
