Hello ford truck owners,
I have a 1953 f100 and i need some cab patch panels for the front part of the cab where the front fenders hook on to. This might have already been covered, but the ones that say front cab coner patch do they have the part the the fender fits into or not. I am new to the form and so far it has been a big help.
I have a '55 F-600 with a bad case of skin cancer myself. I would like to get some of those replacement panels for the corners of the cab where it is rusted out. I ordered catalogs from several old ford parts supply companies and all of them sell patch panels for several makes and models. Problem being, I can't afford what they cost, or what they would cost to have installed, and don't have the welding skills required to accomplish a professional looking job my self. Good old reliable farm truck, but just looks bad. Wish I could get it dolled up some, but it hauls the hay anyway.
i just went through this myself depening on how bad the rust really is.
i got the cowl, front cab mount, inspection plate, the rocker panel and the lower door hinge pocket.
but there is also a triangular piece that runs through that area which im not sure what it is. i think it the triangulated front cab support, but im unsure.
there is 2 other pieces that goes where the fenders mount on goes inside the cowl(some kinda support that goes around the holes in the cowlfor the render itself) and the other goes on the outside of the cowl(inner fender mount)which are you refering to?
Sorry. Should have been more specific. I am talking about the corners at the lower portion of the rear of the cab. Been reading up on the new bonding stuff that some body and fender guys swear by and others swear at. I think when I get my courage up, I am going to give it a try. One corner at a time.
