Ya Pops, I was wondering what parts I will need to swap from the 390s to the 360 to make it into a proper intercepter. Crank, rods, Heads exc. Do you think it would be worth it.
Actually I think you would be happier using the 390 and taking out the 360. That Interceptor was a screamer. I believe the heads and cam made the interceptor different from a regular 390. The C/R may be a half a point higher than standard, too. That may have been done in just the heads alone being a smaller c/c head.
You may want to look at the performance specs on hp vs torque and see which one delivers the better torque at low end. The 360 is strictly truck, while the interceptors were ***** out racing. Police vehicles ran them, too.

well why do you want to know what to swap that is pretty easy the only thing the 360, and a 390 PI have in common is the block, just rebuild on of the 390s, and drop it into the truck, but remember the 2 things that make a PI different from a regular 390 4vequiped engine are the heads, and the cam other than that they are the same, those are some pretty good heads, and a good base engine to start with.
