The first cam is what I am using and I modeled it extensively with DD2000. It should make between 425-460 hp with everything else in your combo, depending on the exact head flow. The second cam is the next step up in Comps lineup and it will gain you about 25 hp over the first cam, but it will also just begin to lose a bit of power from idle to 2000 RPM's. The reason I chose the first cam was because it started very strong at 2000 RPM's and kept good power out to around 5200. The second cam will not make as much power as the first until around 25-2600 RPM's, all other thing being equal. It will then make about the same until around 4800 or so when it begins to take over and ultimately makes about 25-30 more hp. To me, the first one fit the bill. It will just depend on what you want. BTW, either one will work with a stock torque convertor in a hot 460, despite what Comp says.

I don't think you'll need a higher stall. You can, you won't hurt anything by going with a 2000 rated stall. My engine stalls my stock converter to about 2100-2200. That's how much torque it has. The DD2000 shows the smaller Comp cam to have over 500 ft. lbs of torque at 2000 RPMs and it steadily climbs to a peak of around 550 ft. lbs. These 460's are torque beasts.

cool right now i have the 460 but has d3 heads with a hi energy 260 so going to dove heads and the first cam will result in quite a difference then

Yes. The bump in CR will help and the better flowing D0VE's will also help. The cam will help as well. Stock D3's suck. I'm running D3's but they have been professionally ported and polished.
