V-8 EFI Hard Starting

My '92 F150 4x4 doesn't want to start when warm. When cold starts right up, If restarted soon after shut down no problems either. The problem started a year ago or so, more of a nuisance than any thing (had to crank for several seconds), but now its getting worse. I have dual tanks and recently swapped out the 302 for rebuilt 351W. I hoped that the swap would fix it but did not. It acts the same on either tank. The new engine has its own regulator, rail and injectors, so I assume(?!) they are not the problem. I have not checked fuel pressure. Also, I keep getting an EGR trouble code that I can't seem to fix, changed several items to no avail. Would that cause my starting woes?

I would check the fuel pressure when it doesn't want to start and I would also check the IAC (idle air control) if it wasn't changed during the engine swap.
