Remote entry module...
I am a new owner of a 2000 F150 w/power door locks. I'd like to add a factory remote entry system. I tried the 8-cycle key test suggested here to determine if the module was installed on my truck...no luck. Ford dealer sells the complete system kit for around $180. I've seen them both on ebay and craigslist for much cheaper. My question is where exactly is the module located (when installed) in the truck? Anyone know? Thanks.

It should be up under the dash on the driver's side bolted to the firewall. But if your gonna spend $180 for remote entry, might as well get an aftermarket alarm. It will have more features and provide some protection, the factory keyless entry module is NOT an alarm. Just my opinion.....
