'69 front end
I've been searching through the threads and getting tired (my eyes are crossed). I have a '69 with drums and putting '77 front disc brakes on her. I have a single I-beam on my truck now and twin I-beams from the donor. I intend to swap the spindles and that's it. I don't think it'll benefit me to try to mount the twins under my '69. Am I in the right frame of mind or lazy?

It is twin I-beams. I swear I didn't see two of them until today while I was crawling around under her. What a feeling. I will use my own "twin I-beams" and the '77 spindles, it only makes sense.

According to my books, the king-pin angle might be different on the later spindles, so your caster would be way off. On my '70, I replaced the I-beams, too. I got all the parts out of a '76, including radius rods and steering compinents, just to be sure it would all match up.

I have never attempted this before but I have studied the tech article on the subject. You can use the original I-beams and the spindle from the donor truck but when it's all done, the steering will be seriously out of alignment. Nothing that can't be fixed.
