4.0L engines in Ranger/Explorer and Aerostars die not get EGR until 1994 and then only in California. Starting with 95, they all get EGR. Locate the drivers side exhaust manifold and follow the EGR tube from the exhaust manifold up to the intake manifold. That is where the EGR would be located.
