Hoping someone can help..... My malibu is shifting oddly... It's in 3rd gear before 35mph, what I need to know is, is there a TV cable that can be adjusted? It's THM200C w/lockup TC.
I'd start looking for a TH 350. It is a true bolt in replacement, just need to add a vaccum line for the modulator. The 200 is a notoriously weak tranny, who's only saving grace is that is is the same length and has the same bell housing pattern and takes the same driveshaft yoke as the TH 350. If you have a V6, or the "baby" V8 (262ci) you might be ok, but even a mild 305 can shred a 200 in short order. Just a word to the wise, it sounds like this a is a project car, so you might have something hotter that the 115 HP 262 V8 2bbl setup under the hood. Just my $0.02

Yes, the TV cable needs to be adjusted.
There is a slide clip on the end of the TV cable at carb. linkage. With ENGINE OFF, undo slide clip, this will release tension on the TV cable. Hold the throttle linkage 'wide open' and re-snap slide clip. This will adjust the TV cable to the correct length.
It's much better now... It's got the chevy 229V6, in it.. It's got all kinds of wierd options... It's a nice little car.. (www.thevanman.us) there are pics of it there. It's pretty fun to drive. It's getting a complete engine/trans/rear end swap here in a few months. 351w (500hp), c6 or built AOD haven't decied yet, and a ford 9" rear with 3.73 gears.
