Smile good memories

Anybody have good memories of an old truck.

I bought a 64 jeep wagoneer from a friend for $50 in 1984. I yankes out the 232 and 3 speed tranny, dropped in a 360 and c6 with a spicer transfer case(can't remember the model). I converted it to 4 wheel drive, lifted it 6" and put on a set of 36" grand prix. I put a tinted ford windshield banner in it and replaced the jeep fender plaques with F250 plaques, I painted "sherman t. ank" on the tailgate. built a 6" tube bumper for the rear, welded a 1/4" steel plate across it and welded a hitch and some horse shoes to it. In the front I made a 4" bumper, welded a pushbar/brushguard to it and some lights from an old caterpillar. Nobody ever stayed in front of me long on the freeway no matter which lane I was in. Some of the looks I got were priceless. I drove it for 3 years until I was working on it one day it backfired through the carb and caught fire. I tried to beat it out with my hat and told my cousin to get the hose, he ran into the house and watched from the kitchen window. by the time I got the hose it was too late and it was a total loss. But it sure was fun for the time that I had it.

Is that a ford 360 and c6 or did you get a dodge 360 to mate to a ford c6?
Wondering because I can get a '78 Dodge P/U w/ a 360 for real cheap cause the tranny is blown and I have a spare C6.

Cuz this is a FORD site I am going to have to say that old dodge trucks are just horrific looking. They never made a good looking truck until the late 90's and now.

Yuck, old dodges
