Smile Transmission Temp Guage

Just got a Autometer Transmission Temperature guage. Is there a plug that can be pulled and put the temp probe in without drilling and tapping the pan? Someone said you can pull the line going to the cooler up front and install a tee to hook it into. I bet someone out there knows the easiest/best way to do it.
Thanks,
Stroker350

If you're talking about a 4r100 trans - yes - there is a plug that you can pull out and put your sender into. It's on the driver side - about halfway back the transmission I'd say - it's got a regular bolt head on it. If memory serves me right - it's the only thing that looks like that on that side...

yes it is right in front of the linkage it is a plug with a hex on it. just dont overtighten the probe when installing and dont bottom the probe probe out my did and then i had to put a little teflon tape on the last couple of threads to keep from leaking. It is not regular threads i believe it is 1/8 pipe thread
