I have an Expy but also have a Probe. I figured one of you may have a clue as to what is going on with it.
Today, I started the car (which was running fine this morning) and the headlamps proceeded to pop-up (but not on) and then a bell proceeded to ping constantly. I cannot get the lights to pop down and the bell is ringing all the time whether the car is on or off.
NOTE: The seat belt dash light is not working either. Not sure if this is part of the problem.
The headlamp retractors are controlled by a central processing unit, which also controls chime functions, domelamps, etc. It could be that it has just gone whacko or there is a short somewhere.
Thanks for the reply. I am going to 1. check the headlamp retractor fuse. My gut tells me that there is a backup to open the lights in case the fuse blows at least the car will have lights. It would be a bummer if this occured at night and my lights did not go up.
2. I am going to disconnect the battery and reconnect it. Maybe the computer will reset.
