390 to 460
i want to switch the 390 in my truck to a 460 waht would be the problems with doing this i plan on using the same c-6 with a 460 bell housing what about the motor mounts and ignition system

390 and 460 have different bellhousing, so a new trans case is in order. You can pick up a set of engine perches and mounts from a jusnk yard truck running a 460 and they should bolt into existing holes in the frame. Ignition system "should" be the same, if you are talking the wiring, but starter/distributor are exclusive of the motors.
