4.6l performance
i have a 97 mustang gt convertible. does any one know what they run stock? also i have installed 373 gears and flowmasters.i would like to know whats the best bang for the buck on performance?while keeping it all motor. which heads are the best to put on these engines for performance?i know that the 96 to 98 mustang 4.6 have really crappy heads so what like to know which r the best to install? will lightning heads work??? is it worth it?? i live in ca so full lenght headers are out of the question only shorties which are the best??much help appreciated !!!!!

You need a set of 99-up PI heads. Most Mustang magazines have adds for companies that sell the changeover kit. You have to change the intake manifold too. You might want to install a set of CompCams camshafts in the heads before installing them. This will give you about 45 to 50 more HP. BBK makes good headers. I would also install a good cold air induction kit and a larger throttlebody so that it can breathe better.
