I need some help with visual differences in drivetrain components- first front axle. The truck is a 78 4x4 c6 400m 3/4 ton, stock. Is there any obvious visual differences to set apart the D44 and D60? I think those are the only 2 axles available for that particular truck. Secondly, are there any obvious visual differences in the NP203 and NP205 transfer cases? Any help would be great- thanks again ya'll.
Scott
If it's an F250, then it will have 8 lug wheels no matter what. But some F-250's came with a HD Dana 44 while some had the 60. I'm not sure on how to tell the difference, but I think the model number will be cast into the webbing somewhere.
Thanks for the site Ryan, helped a lot with the transfer case ID. Does anybody know exactly where the ID on the webbing is? Front or rear of vehicle? Right or left? Top or bottom? Or better yet....does anyone know any really good ways to tell really quick the difference between a Dana 44/60 on the front?
Thanks again,
Scott
