I just had my lower hose replaced today, but heres a question for you all, when I picked the truck up i checked the coolant level and it is GREEN, to my knowledge the 6.0 should have that gold or yellow coolant, I asked the teck and he said they put an additive in it that is BLUE in color and that changes the color to GREEN, I dont know if theyre just trying to hide the fact that they did something wrong or is this true? It looks like GREEN antifreeze to me, any help from any tecks out there would be greatly appreciated, dont wont to do any damage to my truck, thanks, Brian.
there has been many threads about the lower hose rubbing and lately a few about the spring type hose clamps ford uses breaking off,on radiator hoses, heater hoses and the turbo pipes.
it would be a wise move for all to inspect the hoses and clamps. then replace all the spring clamps with ss screw clamps for our own safty. it's not only on the 6.0 but also the gassers having them break. in the v10 area there is a thread posted this past weekend with photos of the failed clamp

Thats a bunch of "hooey".
The 6.0L takes the new gold premium coolant and does not require any additives. If so, it would change the color to a darker shade of gold or light brown. I would go back to the dealer and ask if they used distilled water or regular water?
The 6.0L does not need a radiator fluid flush until 100,000 and every 50,000 after that due to regular water or inferior quality being used. Due to having your radiator hose changed, they shorted you on mileage!!!
I would have them flush your system several times to remove all of the bad and wrong coolant and replace with proper coolant at a minimum!!! At least you'll be good for 50,000 or so miles.
If you read your manual for the 6.0L, you will read about distilled water and coolant additives.
Stick to your guns... it's your truck and money!!!
