Ford Dealership Sites

I followed a link from the ford website to local dealerships in my area, & was able to search their inventory of new Explorers.

Just how up to date are these sites, I mean, do they actually update the website with their new inventory. If I go to the dealer looking for a certain car, what are the chances that it's actually there on the lot?

I also noticed that MSRP was different on a couple of Explorers that were identically equipped, but at different dealers. Shouldn't the MSRP be the same, or could it be an old listing I'm comparing to a new one?

It is up-to-date, but......it isn't perfect. A vehicle may show that it's on the lot, but it may have been sold yesterday, and the customer won't be picking it up till Saturday morning. The dealer wouldn't report it sold to Ford until Monday morning, so it would still show on the website until late Monday/ early Tuesday.

Ford has price increases throughout the year, but they can't change the price on one that's already built. So, you can have 2 identically-equipped vehicles right next to each other, but the one built last week might be $400 more than the one built last November.

Good questions, BTW. Keep 'em up!
