how do i find out the invoice on a truck from a dealer that i want to go to.. i tried going on a couple of the suggested sites that are free to use but they did not return the dealership that i am looking for? is there another way i can find out the invoice?
Use FordVehicles or FordDirect to find the vehicle you're looking for, and note all the equipment. Then go to CarsDirect.com and price it out there, they'll give you retail and invoice. You can do the same on Ford Direct, but CarsDirect's pricing is much more accurate. That's right, Ford's own website is not as accurate as some outsider when it comes to pricing. Don't ya love it?
thanks for that info...i plan on dropping by a few dealers tomorrow to see what i can find out...should i go in with my game face and say ill pay the targeted price from carsdirect.com?? because i want to be able to stay around the 250/mth mark for 60 mths... i plan on putting down like 12k...i also went on to another local ford dealerships web site and they have the $2000 rebate and approved apr combo which says expires i think 9/30/2004 so that should take an additional 2000 off which would be good.. have you heard of this combo? this will also be my first new car buying experience. im trying to get as much info as i can..
Oh boy....I wish I had my website up and running, it's all about how to buy a new car or truck, with a lot of car-dealer "insider's" info. But it ain't ready yet, so your next best stop on the web is edmunds.com. There is TONS of good info and advice, maybe even too much; you can spend days there. As for the price, tell your local dealers that you can get it for $200 below invioce here, through FTE, and see what they say. Some may just say fine, we'll match that (but be prepared to BUY right then and there if they do), while others will get angry, get defensive, and spend the next 4 hours trying to get you to pay more. The only way you'll know is to shop around, either in person or on the 'net. Good luck!
thanks again.. i did use edmounds and i used a couple of those invoice sites im just waiting on the msrp and invoice from a few dealerships. hopefully i can make something happen
Is there a difference in price between dealer invoice and factory invoice? A friend of mine at work says he bought his 2002 screw at 200 over factory invoice and that is different than dealer invoice. I'm not so sure.
Invoice is invoice. Now, a dealer may take a truck and add stuff to it (dealer-installed running boards, rustproofing, window etching), and they might create what they call a "dealer invoice" to show the extra costs added.
Those can be done at the factory on some models (you haven't indicated in any of your posts just what you're looking to buy), like an Explorer or Expedition. If you get them from the factory, then you negotiate from the bottom line, including all the options. If the dealer has added those things, then you're pretty much on your own, because I don't know what the dealer paid for the stuff, where they bought it, etc...
oh ok.. i had posted what im looking for in anther thread "got a quote from dealer today" but this is what im looking for a 2004 XLT F-150 SuperCrew 4X2 Styleside 5 1/2FT bed with the 4.6L V8 engine electronic 4-speed with overdrive, 3.55 ratio, black clearcoat ext., flint or tan int., 17" cast aluminum wheels, premium cloth 40/20/40 front seat, am/fm single cd. pretty much a basic f-150 b/c i like to add all of my own modifications.
First, the Supercab with a 5.5' bed and 4.6 V8 was cancelled early in the model year, so you most likely won't find one. Same thing, but with the 6.5' box, has an MSRP of $28235, and an invoice of $25178. I wouldn't pay a penny more than invoice right now, THEN subtract the current rebates from that. If you SHOULD find the 5.5' box, then invoice would be $24918.
im not looking for SuperCab. im looking for SuperCrew they do have that in 5 1/2 Ft still right? also i kinda have a dumb question the dealer said if i finance through ford i can get the 3500 rebate if i finance through ford. will i get a higher interest rate if i go through ford as to getting a interest rate from a different bank???

Sorry about that. MSRP is $30185, invoice is $26831. Rebate is $2500, plus another $1000-1500 for financing with Ford Credit. Ford Credit's rates are higher, but it may be worth it to get that extra rebate; you'll have to figure that out for yourself (local bank's low-rate monthly payment vs. Ford Credit's higher rate, but lower financed amount, payment).
