Performance cat & muffler 4.9 E150???
I'm looking for a performance cat converter and muffler for a 4.9 95 E150. Need suggestions on brands and where to purchase. All I can find right now is a Gibson Universal round muffler. Haven't found a cat. I have also heard that flowmaster creates a lot of resonance. Evidently no one makes performance systems for this engine? Looks like I'm gonna have to buy the parts and have the system custom installed.

Dynomax [made by Walker] high flow converters are cheap thru the usual mail order houses [jegs, summit]. If your van came with two separate convertors you'll also need a new "y" pipe to hook up the single new cat. Pretty much any muffler will fit long as you get the correct inlet/ outlet sizes [plenty of room under there]. I run a Walker "quite flow" muffler to keep the noise down, but plenty of ppl use the Flowmaster mufflers if they want to really hear the engine. The Dynomax "super turbo" mufflers are a good compromise, they flow very well, have a moderate tone, and are quite inexpensive [use them on my old hot rod].
