Question 89 302/c4? Help!!!

Hello all. I am in the final process of refinishing my 89 Supercab, and converting it into a flat deck with stake sides. I have removed the propane system, and am trying to get the thing running on gas again. My question is, if I can't get it to work too well, i.e. the tranny slips and shifts rough. And the overdrive shimmies, can I bolt up my 79 C-4 to this engine. I am sure the pattern is the same, but will it work. That is, If I dont swap the engine out for a carburated 79 302 I have sitting in the shed. Or, can I just swap out the heads and intake on the 89 302, and just convert it to a carburator. If I do this, is there a mechanical fuel pump cover on the block? What can I do for a fuel pump? Any suggetions in this area please. Thanks to all who take the time to read this, and to those who reply.

if the truck is stricly going to be used on the farm then converting over to carb wont be to bad. but otherwise its illegal. emissions laws.
check wrecking yards for parts you might need. if the tranny is acting up may be due for a service. you shouldnt have to convert the heads for carb the manifold should bolt up fine.
good luck

Where I live, (Canada) that isn't to big of a problem. I am a little concerned that the valves my be in bad shape due to the propane being on it since it was new. I will keep you posted though.
