I took my wife's 97 Explorer V6 into Jiffy Lube and the kid broke the dipstick off!
I've taken the dipstick tube off and it's not in there . It must be sitting in the bottom of the oil pan. It's about a 2-3 " long piece.
I've tried using a magnet to fish it out the drain hole.No luck so far.
It looks like the engine has to come out to get this piece out ?
Can it cause any damage ?
i would make them pay for the removeal and replacment i know that they will pay i used to work of them and they do not do drug tests and allot of them do drugs and dealed them in the parking lot that is why i quit i would not bring my truck there i have seen so many things broke by carelessness
If i were you just take it to ford, let them fix it, and tell jiffery lube when the vehical is ready they are paying....minds well make them pay for there mistakes.....Had a similer problem happen to me at pep boys the kid cracked one of my spark plugs, i knew i should of done it myself of took it to my mechanic, but for some reason went there, anyways they denied it and i even brought them the plug the refuned all my money and had my mechanic inflate the price of the diog. of the problem and they paid that too!!!!
