Going Back To An Expedition
I had a 98 expy eb for a year and sold it. most comfortable vehicle I had ever owned. I bought a jeep limited grand cherokee fully optioned. It's not comfortable at all. I'm going back to an expy eddie bauer and will be picking up a 1999 (fully optioned (everything but moonroof) even has heated seats) tomorrow night.
Any major diffs between the 98 and 99 I should worry about.
please advise if you get a moment.

Watch for oil leaking at the heads, especially right hand. 99 was kinda bad for it. Also 99 was plagued with an odometer that will go out while driving. Other than that it should be as dependable as your earlier model, but with a more powerful engine.

I have also been told that sparkplug blowout was a problem in 99. Most of it has been blamed on owners changing plugs themselves and not using a torque wrench just hand tightening. Leaving the plugs to loose, or too tight and stripping the threads which are kind of short for the head. I know of two that had it happen with originals still in and ford put in a new motor (under warranty) not just heads but they were both f250s that pull heavy loads.
