Keyless entry
I just bought a 1995 Explorer XLT with the keypad beside the drivers door handle. Noone has the codes for it and i was wondering where i could look to find the code to use it, or change the code for that matter.

Congrats on your purchase. I too have an Explorer XLT with the keypad. There should be a card in the owner's manual that has numbers on it. That is the code for the door. You can't change the code unless you know the original code. If you don't have a card, you could try taking it to the dealership and have them try and reprogram. The code might even be in the engine computer. They can check that too. Also, what color do you get it in and do you have autolamp and the overhead console? Mine is white with the lower portion painted. I have autolamp and the overhead console. I love them both. Enjoy your Explorer.

You can find the code on the box located in the jack area. Take the cover off the jack area (driver's side rear) and look for a metal box just in front of the open area. The box will have a 5 digit number on it that will open your doors and allow you to change the code. You will probably need a flashlight to be able to read the code.

Funny thing about the overhead console, the manual says that is only avaliable on the Limited model. Odd isn't it? Oh well who cares as long as I have it.
