Power Steering Fluid Leak?
I have a 97 F250 with a 460 and manual transmission and I have a problem. When Im backing up my 5th wheel and have to crank on the wheel pretty good I get smoke from the engine compartment. I think that this is a result of power steering fluid being ejected from the reservoir onto the header. I check the fluid level regularly and it seems to be ok and the reservoir does not leak any other time. Is this a pump problem or what? Could there be too much fluid in there? Any and all opinions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for all your efforts.
