Angry fuel leak

Can you blow a hole in your fuel pump by revving your engine to hard? After I changed my spark plugs I was revving up my engine to about 4500 rpms and all the sudden I sprung a fuel leak. I crawled under and it dripping pretty good from somewhere between the carburator and the fuel pump. I can't really tell where it's coming from cuz it only does it with the engine running and I can't stick my hands up there to feel around but wherever it's coming from it collects on the bottom of the fuel pump from somewhere above. It's a pretty good leak.

i dont know if this helps but i sprung a similar leak, and it turned out to be a rubber hose connecting to a metal line and the rubber line sprung a pinhole leak right where the end of the metal line touched the inside of the rubber line. this rubber line was about 6 months old if that tells you how fast a line can degrade. if you have any rubber between the pump and the carb i would replace it.
