OD light flashed, tranny slipping...
95 Explorer 4.0 Auto 140k miles
I was driving up a snowy hill and thought my tires were spinning, in 4 high... Then I realized the tranny was slipping, the OD light started flashing, and the smell of burn't tranny fluid filled the car... I was only 1000 yards from home, when I pulled in the fluid level was fine but had a blackish color...
I need 4 wheel drive to get down the mountain to have it towed in... Should I drive it? Do you think my tranny is fried? Is AAMCO reliable? (Boise, Idaho)
