I just changed out my radio with a cd player. At first I couldn't hear any audio and then with the help of people here on the board I got that working. Now that it works it hisses. What's causing the hiss, most noticeable at lower volume levels 10 or less.
If you hear the noise when the truck is running it's engine noise
then you need to install an (in line noise suppresser) or noise filter which is basicaly a wire coil. But you just connect it
to your positve hot wire going to your cd player.
(bettween the + source and the player)
Hope this can help JC

You don't need the engine running to hear the hiss sound. But the radio I just removed didn't do that. I'll try a filter and then I'll probably pay to have someone fix it for me.
