Ok...interior lights on my wifes truck will not turn off...unless you pull the fuse. The door ajar light does not come on nor the chimes...but the lights stay on? Any ideas? Where to start looking......I figured if it was the door switches, the ajar light or the chimes would go off. Any help would be appreciatted...........MikeD
I had this happen on my 98 Ranger. I ended up having to replace the dimmer switch. The roller on the dimmer switch somehow bent or broke, and was making contact keeping power to the lights. That would be the first place I would check. Get a multitester and see if you have current through the switch - even when it is unplugged form the wiring harness.
okay..tested the switch...with the fuse in place.all the connections showed power......with the fuse out...all the wires, but a black/pink and a light green/yellow, showed power.........that does not sound right to me...the prob is..the wire colors on the switch and the ones in the book I have dont match......ie. in the book there is no black/pink wire.
Where can i find a wiring pic for a 93 explorer??

I have a '02 Explorer 4Dr. 2 wheel drive and the "Door Ajar" light stays lit, and the interior lights stay on. Does anybody know where the door ajar sensor is on the doors and the hatch? Hope someone can help me out
I ended up pulling all the switches at each door, they look like little plunger things..........turned out one was partially pooched and was causing all the grief.......trip to the wreaker and all was fixed.....

Lube the door latches with WD-40, open and close the door approx. 10 times, lube them again, open and close them a few more times and your problem should go away.
