My dad owns a 97 F150. When he turns his headlights on, the lights for the instrument panel goes out and the clock/radio lights flash. Can someone tell me where the relay is located? It would be nice to see just how fast we go at night. All help would be appreciated.
Looking at the book in hand for my 97 F150 2x4. I will give you the fuses and relays that may relate to this but it seems more like you have a bigger problem. Here goes. in the passenger compartment fuse box the big blocks(relays) are as follows from top to bottom, 1 interior lamps relay, 2.battery saver relay 3.not used 4.one touch down relay 5.accessory delay relay
Now the fuses in the cab box that relate to lights or accessory lights are as follows from the far left, top to bottom. first row #1 stop/turn lamps(15 amp)
Second (middle row) #3 down, interior lamps, accessory delay relay (15 amp) #5 down hight beam lamps (20amp) #7 down instrument illumination (5amp)
3rd row (far right) #5 down right low beam headlamp(10 amp) #6 down fog lamp(5amp) #7 down left low beam(10 amp).
Under the hood fuse box
smaller fuse cluster in the bottom far left, far left row #2 down daytime running lamps and fog lamps (15 amp) #3 down parking and tail lamps (15 amp), Next row over, to the right (small fuse cliuster in bottom far left) #3 down headlamps (30amps) #4 down audio system (15 amp) I don't see any realys in the out side box that relate to lighting.
Now let me ask you a question, is there an owners manual in the glove box? If so the fuse info. and pics are on page 127 thru 130.
