Does anyone know why FOMC is continuing with what seems to be underspeced tires? We are considering trading in our 97 V6 EB Explorer for 02 EB Explorer, and have found it has even a smaller size. This was a factor when we purchased the 97 and went with the v6 version which provided 16s ilo of the 15s on the v8 which BFS has recalled every 15.
All other SUVs have gone the route of at least offering 17s, ie. Nissan, Infiniti, Mercedes, ect. The EB Exp is a larger model than the afore and not only is it offering a smaller 16 than the 97 but not even an optional 17, what is up here, at the end of the day this is a truck and should at least for safety let alone asstetics have a large tire look.
Does Ford Plan for the 03 model a change? Or is it possible to upsize the current 02 from the 245 70r 16 to at least the size of the 97 which is a 255 70r 16?
I read somewhere that sometime this year Ford is going to be offering a new XLT Sport Package with 17" wheels which would be a first for the Explorer. I know you said you wanted an EB but, if you want 17" wheels you might wanna wait and see if the XLT Sport comes out.
