Anybody here a fan of regular cabs? The Crewcabs and the Supercrews look nice but by far I think the good ol two doors look the best. Just wondering if Iam the only one, I hardly ever see a regular cab out there anymore.
i got a regular cab. it's ok but i have kids. i would like to have a crew or extended cab for all of us, but that is what the E150 is for. besides, i bought the truck from my father in law for 4K. can't complain. i'll be getting a truck-bed storage box to get rid of the stuff behind the seat to make room for speakers. it's going to be a daily driver soon, i might as well enjoy it. you are right, though, you don't see too many reg cabs.
I really love my reg cab flareside. I think they are the best looking trucks out there. But, I would really like to have have the extra room of a crew cab. Guess I'll have to save up so I can get me a Harley edition in a few years.
I just bought a new F-150 with a regualr cab. I looked and dreamed of the supercab but when it came down to the difference of $4-5000 I did not want to justify it. Thenewe reg. cab trucks are different thatnthe olser ones though, the new ones have four doors. Come to think of it, how often do you see a second or third person in the supercab or supercrew trucks. Sometimes I thik they are more of a status symbol than anything.
Yes! My brother and I both have regular cabs, Ranger and F-150. I think they look best, more a "traditional" truck look. I am disappointed that the new F-150 regular cab is really a smaller extended cab. What were they thinking with the mini-suicide doors? BTW, we have a 4-door car for carrying more than the three people that the bench seat comfortably holds. Another peeve is that there is no such thing as a true bench seat anymore.
well Jim the reasoning behind the no bench seat is a comfort issue....im 6'5" tall and my G/F is 5'6" her legs wont touch the front of the truck if i slide the seat way back....also if the driver HAS to have the seat forward to reach the pedals and he's 5'4" then im crumpled up in the dash ya know? thats why they have the 70-30 split bench
i think the older dodge rams regular cab cabs had a nice shape. dont like the new 150s with that little window/door thing.
i know about the supercrew thing most of the time its just me and my girlfriend then i see people setting 3 across in a tacoma and i kinda feel bad for them.
You can't beat a regular cab with a bench seat. If you take your buddy and a girl, she has to ride next to you.... If you take two girls... one of them has to ride next to you... heck, if you squeeze in the buddy and both girls, one of them still winds up next to you. Not to mention that it gives me a bunch of flexibility as far as stretching out and moving around on trips, since I'm 6'5". I'm not hustling the F100 through a road course; I don't need "bolsters".
And James, no, I never have a problem with being a passenger in a short person's bench seat vehicle... because I'm a "driver". I don't know how, but any time I go anywhere with anyone, for any reason, I pretty much always drive. Not that I mind...
Speaking of long trips on the bench seat, I have to get going right now.
My Ranger is regular cab. I wish it was extended because it gets really cluttered and would be nice to have the extra room for storage and for the passenger to recline on the longer trips. We usually take my wifes car if we go anywhere because of that, and I would usually rather drive my truck.
I like the idea of the new F-150 regular cab, but can see why it's not for everyone. For me it would be perfect because I never have more than two passengers in my truck anyways, and it's not that bad to sit 3 across in a full size, yet it offers about as much room behind the seat as the ext. cab ranger does,
More room=more trash. I live in my truck, If it needs to come along, I have the tonneau cover to keep it dry. Also limits my having to drive on roadtrips with people I don't want in my truck in the first place... "I don't know, if she has to come with, you gotta drive."
It's all about resale value at this point. because "nobody" wants a regular cab anymore!
