Still looking for one that doesn't require drilling into the body. You'd think it'd be pretty basic.

I put on one from www.soft-tops.com on my 93 Bronco 3 weeks ago and I love it. I was really impressed of how easy it went on and how good it fits. People can fit in the back seat, I'm 5'10" but have to tilt my head a little, but who cares about that you won't be sitting in the back seat HaHa! If you do get one get the good fabric since it will cut the wind noise in half. Write me if you want to see pics I should have some in a couple of days.

I did have to put lap belts in the rear but that was only 30 bucks or so.

How much modification to fit an 80-96 soft top to a 78-79 bronco? Sure do like that "Fast track" top...

when you really think about what the soft top involves there isnt a whole lot of way to keep it secure without some new parts and drilling is the most conventional and in my opinion prolly the best way plus when its on or off the lil crome studs dont look to bad the kinda add a stylish touch to the boring rear end of the truck

Yeah but wouldn't you think that the method Skyler uses for their tonno type top be the best way? Make a fast track type top but with a frame that bolts into the stock bolt locations for the hard top. Then snap the soft top to the frame.

Lightbulb in a way

yea in a way but that frame covers almost all of the exposed metal where the top came off of and is about uglyier than hell with the top off. which kinda defeats the purpose of havin the top off to look koo when you got that eye sore frame all over the bed edges

So is the general consensus that the STC is better than the Skyler because the frame looks cruddy?
I ask because I am still debating, and trying to find more options for my '79.

Hey Bigfoot,
Check this thread.
It's got some other things going on about soft tops.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...emade+soft+top+
Or if that link doesn't work, just search for "homemade soft tops" It's like the second or third page of search returns.
