Replacing Yoke Seal
I need to replace what I think is called the yoke seal(seal where the driveshaft goes into the transmission). My tranny is leaking out this seal about a 1/4 qt. a month, I know this ain't much but it's only going to get worse. After pulling the driveshaft out how do I get the seal out and in and does anyone have any tips on not snagging the new seal when putting the driveshaft back in. Any advise/tips would be appreciated. Thanks

You can pry it out with a seal puller or a screwdriver. Be careful not to nick the aluminum tailshaft. When you go to put the new one in, coat it in vaseline and gently tap it in with a seal driver, a big socket or a block of wood. You don't want to dent the body of the seal or it will be worthless. Coat the inside of the seal with vaseline and the driveshaft, then carefully slide it in. Good luck, Ted
