Unhappy Leather Interior Fixes??

Although I've cleaned and treated the leather in my 99 SD since it was new, there is a six inch area of the steering wheel that has worn through the tan paint/dye or whatever showing the black underneath. Also, the seats, especially the drivers side are now several different shades of tan, and are starting to show small cracks in the leather. Is there any help for these problems short of replacement?

As far as your steering wheel goes once it is all the way through the dye then there isn't much to my knowledge that can be done about it. As far as your seats, if it is just color variation there is something you can try. There is a company called Lexol PH leather care. Awesome stuff. As I recal they make a reconditioner that evens out dry/oily/worn spots for more of an even color appearance. Best of luck. Cor

What have you treated it with? Realmen is right you not going to bring it back but next time don't use Armorall EVER! Use the Lexol it is about the best around. I like the Lexol NF (neats foot).

I used Lexol for the first 3 years, but still ended up with this problem. I understood that Ford was replacing the seat covers for awhile, but my dealer said they won't even touch it now...I'd be interested in knowing if you maedwards did the steering wheel replacement and what it cost. Also, if anyone has done the seats.
