help with drums

Have a 1975 F-100 that I am attempting to pretty much restore. It is in very good condition. 90% original. My problem is that I can not get the front drums off. The axle spins freely, and when the brakes are on it stops. This truck sat in a pine forest for 10 Years and the brakes have probably not been changed. Just want to check them and more than likely change to a brand name. Any suggestions on removing the drums? It is a 4x4. Dont want to break then.
Thanks

The drums are most likely trapped on the hub, drum and hub is removed as an assy.
The wheel stud shoulders are swaged to keep the drum in place.

Read about this and the various hazards about the wheel falling off (do a search in the 67-72 forum) if the new drum is not pressed back onto the hub. Use a search on my name in the 67-72 forum and see how I hogged mine out so they do not have to be pressed on. Unless you are handy, I would have a machine shop do it for you instead.

Thanks for the help. Thought the drum was separate from the hub. Its all one piece. Took out the free running hub and entire unit came off with some persuasion.
