ZF swap
Evidently, I'm not setting the right parameters when I search, 'cause I can't find my way back to threads I've read before. I have a '95 F150, 300 six, SWB, with a M5OD tranny. I want to swap in a ZF, which is apparently found in lots of F250s. What years were the ZFs put into F250s, and what else were they used in?

You need a ZF out of a small block gas engine (300,302,351). A 460 or diesel version will not work. The ZF was used starting in the late 80s, but there are two versions of the small block gas design. There is one rated at 430 and one rated at 470 ftlbs of torque. The 470 was used in newer versions, you'll only be able to tell by the number stamped in it, look for 420 or 470 somewhere on it.
