Small Tires Effect on Speedometer
I just went from 275/65R18 to 265/60R18 size tires. My speedometer seems like it is off significantly (shows much faster than my actual speed). Does anyone know how it can be changed or is there a formula for calculating the difference? The truck came with 275/R65s.

"Theoretically" your actual speed is 95% what the speedometer says. That means at 60, you're acutally going 57. Not a HUGE difference by any means, but like I said, that's theoretical. You know the old line "It works on paper". Not always true.

Run it by your dealer and ask to get the computer changed for the tire sizes. thats the only way to do it since it also throws off your shift points, your odometer and even your low fuel warning light.
